Allen D. Owings Extension Specialist -Ornamental Horticulture

| Dr. Allen Owings, Extension Specialist in Ornamental Horticulture working in commercial nursery crops and home grounds, with the LSU Agricultural Center, Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service. Dr. Owings has been with the Extension Service for several years and is rich in experience with the culture of ornamental plants. He is responsible for statewide coordination of Extension programming in commercial ornamental horticulture and home grounds. His research / demonstration project areas include plant evaluation, home grounds and commercial nursery crop best management practices (BMPs). He has presented programs in various horticultural programs throughout the State, including home landscape lectures, master gardener classes, commercial nursery training, conducted horticulture tours, and Agent training . Allen is noted for is strong leadership role in horticulture programs throughout the State. He makes his home in a small town just south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. | |
